El Mirasol is one of our go to places to enjoy happy hour in Palm Springs. Fondly named "the sunflower", the patio is one of the quaintest in Palm Springs, with brightly colored umbrellas, pretty string lights and the best margaritas in the desert. It's festive by day and romantic at night.
El Mirasol is tucked into the Los Arboles hotel, which has one of the best layouts in Palm Springs. A pool, jacuzzi, rooftop overlook and private terraces, what more do you need? It's name translates to "the tree". We have roots here our "home sweet home" that is rented out annually. The positive to this is the opportunity to try different properties on each visit.
This is the perfect place to stay and dine on-site, if you enjoy Spanish architecture and food, a well designed property with easy parking. It also has a conference room with fireplace to rent for private parties or events. I've inquired on it's use with a quick response from management. A lovely PS getaway spot.

T Kattt ..
In town for a relaxing vacation and decided to go to El Mirasol at Los Arboles Hotel for brunch because the reviews on Google and Yelp were singing high praises. The ambiance was nice and the weather was beautiful so my boyfriend and I opted to sit in the patio which had plenty of umbrellas for shade.
The service was efficient and friendly but I have to say, the food was a bit lacking. I might be a bit spoiled coming from LA where amazing Mexican fare is quite easy to come by. Can't remember the exact name of what I ordered but I had the Mexican scrabbled eggs (with onions, tomatoes & jalapeños) black beans and four tortillas. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito which came with refried beans and rice. Everything was very decently priced however the meal wasn't all that tasty. Perhaps other items on the menu would have been tastier. -

Parking: Plenty of parking behind the restaurant
Atmosphere: Sit in the outdoor courtyard with mist being blown by fans. It makes for a cooling and hazy summer night. We went when it was 100 degrees at night but the courtyard was one cool cucumber. I love it! But spray yourself with some citronella because there can sometimes be mosquitos.
Service: Always top notch, attentive, and kind. The servers always bring extra salsa and chips with a smile.
Food: So good. So good. So good. The spinach enchiladas here are amazing. The perfect blend of spinach, garlic, savory cheese and tomatillo tartness. Please do not change this recipe. It is perfect. The salsa that comes with the chips is also excellent. I add that salsa on everything. The rice and beans are always cooked perfect. I usually eat everything because it is so good and then fall into a food coma. If you don't want to fall into a coma might I suggest sharing a dish with a friend. It worked perfect for us this time around.
Drinks: The jalapeno margie is the perfect kick of spice and sweet. I also order it skinny so it is not too sweet. -

Continues to have my FAVORITE enchiladas! (2019)
My fiancé loves the Chicharrones entree.

Delicious shrimp enchiladas and refried beans!
THE AMBIANCE:
Cute medium-sized Mexican restaurant with a nice outdoor patio seating area (mist machines and fans that spray water) and an indoor seating area with booths and tables.
THE FOOD:
The shrimp enchiladas entreé is delicious! It's my go to every time I come to Mirasol. The tomatillo sauce is on point and the refried beans are very tasty. Honestly, if the refried beans are the shiiii, you've already won with me. The tortillas are the perfect amount of al dente to hold the contents together, but soft enough to enjoy. The rice and cheese melted on top are perfect. I like that the shrimp is sliced into pieces. I thoroughly enjoy this dish.
I think I have had the same server every time; (older Mexican gentleman, thin, glasses) super nice.
THE TIPS:
They serve micheladas - Corona, Tecate, Pacifico, Negra Modelo, etc. -

My first time here this past weekend! I went to Palm Spring for a 40th birthday shindig. We were able to get seats here fairly quickly (without a reservation - for 8!). The ambiance was beautiful... we sat outside in the nice weather; the outside area was decorated with lights and it was just perfect! They kept bringing out chips and salsa - my favorite kind of tortilla chips: light, thin, lightly salted! Can't stand those hard, thick, difficult-to-bite-into chips. The regular pico de gallo- style salsa was great, but then we asked for the spicy kind and the habanero one was perfect (they even brought the diablo sauce for the extra-spicy lovers!). I asked for the recommended dish between the carnitas plate and the chili verde pork one, and our server said to definitely get the chili verde pork. He was not wrong! The pork was tender, the sauce was perfection, the rice (which can sometimes go wrong when made in larger portions) was amazing (and inhaled in 2 mins.), and the beans were great with the cheese. I will definitely come back here when I'm back in Palm Springs. My only complaint - the margarita glasses with the pitcher were small and I would've appreciated a bigger glass.
